Co-Founder & Managing Partner
Drew is Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Millennial Energy Partners and the firm’s various managed funds, operating subsidiaries and investment vehicles. Under his guidance, the firm has secured private equity capital in excess of $300 million and directly invested in oil and gas assets through nine discreet investment vehicles. Prior to Millennial, Drew led BG Group plc’s transactional and operations teams on upstream and liquefied natural gas (LNG) investments in the United States, Western Canada, Chile, Equatorial Guinea and Trinidad and Tobago. Prior to joining BG, Drew was Strategic Planning Manager and Community and Public Relations Manager with Marathon Oil. Drew began his career with Bechtel Corporation as Project Controls Engineer in Equatorial Guinea, West Africa. In 2017 Drew was appointed as a Director on the Board of Amplify Energy Corp. and is the Chairman of the Audit Committee. In 2018 Drew was appointed as a Director on the Board of Ultra Petroleum Corp. Furthermore, he is a member of the Advisory Board of Georgetown University’s Master of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS) program. Drew received his B.S. in Economics and History from Vanderbilt University, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude. He earned his MSFS degree with a concentration in business, finance and development from Georgetown University.

Phillip is Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Millennial Energy Partners and the firm’s various managed funds, operating subsidiaries and investment vehicles. Under his direction, the firm has secured private equity investments in excess of $300 million leading to the acquisition, development and monetization of significant leasehold and mineral positions across most major unconventional plays in the US Lower 48. Prior to Millennial, Phillip served as VP of Business Development for Central Crude, Inc. where he managed commercial contract negotiations governing the company’s oil and gas exploration, production and midstream operations throughout Louisiana and Texas, both onshore and offshore. He began his career as an independent petroleum landman for El Paso Exploration & Production and Chesapeake Energy. On March 1, 2017 Phillip was appointed and currently serves on the Board of Directors of Samson Resources II, LLC and as Chairman of the Audit Committee. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management and Entrepreneurship from Louisiana State University’s E.J. Ourso College of Business.
Partner – Exploration & Development
Before joining Millennial Energy Partners, William served as the Managing Member of two Houston-based, privately-backed E&P funds. Under his guidance, these funds participated in a diversified portfolio of conventional exploration and resource development programs in the Gulf Coast and East Texas Basins. Previously, William worked for Nexen Petroleum in Dallas, TX where he developed conventional Gulf of Mexico shelf and deepwater assets. William also worked with Nexen through its merger with CNOOC. Prior industry experience includes working onshore and offshore fields with Anglo-Dutch Energy, Cobalt International Energy and Houston Energy L.P. William earned a B.S in Geology from Louisiana State University and has competed all coursework towards an M.S in Geology at Southern Methodist University. William sits on the Petroleum Club of Houston Membership Committee. He is a member of the LSU Science Dean’s Circle and is a former letterman and pitcher on the LSU baseball team.
Partner – Geosciences
David joined Millennial Energy Partners after a decade of leading subsurface technical teams focused on finding and producing oil and gas in basins across the world. He began his career as a development geologist in the Gulf of Mexico with Chevron, based in Houston and New Orleans, before assuming other technical and leadership positions in Gulf of Mexio onshore and offshore exploration, as well as with Chevron Angola. Most recently, he led exploration efforts along the Brazilian Equatorial Margin region for Pacific Rubiales USA. David received his B.S in Geology from the Ohio State University and his M.S. in Geophysics from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
Vice President – Operations
Chapman is Vice President of Operations at Millennial Energy Partners. Prior to Millennial, Chapman was Vice President of Drilling for Stonegate Production Company, a private equity-backed oil and gas operator primarily focused in the Eagle Ford Shale in South Texas. While at Stonegate, he was responsible for building and managing a multi-rig drilling organization that safely and cost-effectively drilled more than 100 Eagle Ford Shale wells in less than two years. Prior to Stonegate, Chapman worked for El Paso Exploration and Production, where he held various petroleum engineering roles. While at El Paso, he gained experience in multiple conventional and unconventional reservoirs, including the Eagle Ford, Haynesville, Wolfcamp, Cotton Valley (Texas and Louisiana), Wilcox (Louisiana) and Wasatch/Green River (Utah). Chapman earned a B.S. in engineering at Texas Tech University.
Vice President & General Counsel
Clay Brett is Vice President and General Counsel of Millennial Energy Partners. Prior to Millennial, Clay was one of the first attorneys to join Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP’s Houston office in November 2014 where he focused on buyouts and investments in the oil and gas industry, primarily representing banks, private equity sponsors, portfolio companies and management teams. Clay has a track record of successfully executing equity, debt, structured finance and asset-level transactions and has been a trusted advisor to premier acquisition and investment platforms focused on unconventional exploration and development. Prior to Willkie, Clay started his career in the corporate and securities group at Bracewell & Giuliani LLP, representing Chesapeake, Apache, Kinder Morgan, ConocoPhillips and numerous investment banks. Clay is a graduate of the University of Florida, with honors, and Vanderbilt Law School.
Tim joined Millennial Energy Partners in June 2016 as the Company’s Controller. He brought with him over 30 years of oil and gas E&P experience with both operated and non-operated properties located in the U.S., Gulf of Mexico and abroad. Prior to joining the Company, Tim was Vice President and Controller for Black Falcon Energy, LLC where he was responsible for establishing and overseeing the accounting functions for 8,200 non-operated oil and gas properties. He has served in similar capacities for other organizations, including Tradition Resources II, LLC, PetroSantander, Inc. and Centurion Exploration Company. Throughout his career, Tim has participated in the acquisition and divestiture of over 3,500 oil and gas properties. Tim received his accounting degree from The University of Texas at Dallas in 1985 and is married with two children and four grandchildren.
Sr. Staff Landman
Kayli is a Senior Staff Landman at Millennial Energy Partners. Prior to Millennial, Kayli worked for Continental Resources as a landman focused on the SCOOP and STACK plays in the Anadarko Basin. Kayli began her career as a landman for Chesapeake Energy where she focused on unconventional assets in South Texas, West Virginia and Pennsylvania. Kayli received a B. A. in History from Davidson College where she played NCAA Division 1 field hockey and earned a J. D. from the University of South Carolina.
Manager – Reservoir Engineering
TJ is Manager – Reservoir Engineering of Millennial Energy Partners. Prior to Millennial, TJ was Manager of Reservoir Engineering at White Star Petroleum (formerly American Energy – Woodford, LLC). While at White Star, he led the Reservoir Engineering group and was responsible for the company’s multi-rig asset development program and over 850 PDP wells across several Oklahoma basins. TJ also led evaluations and executed several transformative mergers and acquisitions. Prior to White Star, TJ was an energy commodities trader for GDF Suez and Keystone Energy Partners where he managed hedging activities for power assets and traded electricity in every market in the U.S. TJ earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Master of Engineering in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University.
